  • Let's talk about our feelings...

So not too sure what to make of this and perhaps I'm just being overly sensitive, but...when I first start to drive my car it feels pretty agressive. Just the way I want it to feel. However, after I've been driving for awhile the boost just doesn't seem as peppy anymore. Any thoughts on this?
Before someone screams for boost gauge data, I don't have one yet because
    a) I'm too cheap to buy the whizzy AWE guage
    b) I lack the patience to make my own

Here's the skinny on my car:
    2001.0 S4 Stage 2+
    VAST tuned
    Deleted EGT's
    AWE DP's
    Twin2 exhaust

Last VAG on the car only highlighted the rear o2's being junk...

    Any thoughts?

I have an APR boost guage kit I would sell for $45.... thats a good start!

After that it certainly could be heatsoak if you routinely drive in traffic....

Buy the boost gauge or you can't really complain.

Snap! Not really complaining, just seeking the input of the forum. I could buy a VAG and take my car to George or Jordan and have them answer my inane questions, but thought I would just throw it out there and see what people think.

Hey Ryan, I wish my car was the Nogaro...it's just plain silver...but I sleep better at night knowing that's the fastest colour. Next on my list of maintenance is the spark plugs...I'm thinkin' NGK 7's.

Sounds like a sweet deal Mark...at least until I can grab the one from AWE...why so cheap?

Sounds like a case of good old heat soak to me, stock IC's still? I'm also going to jump on the "get a boost gauge" bandwagen here. Oh and the rear O2's or "S2" when scanned supposedly won't affect your performance at all, just get vast to tune them out for you.

thats why i went from a 400, to a 600 to a 1000cc motorbike in 4 years. You just get used to the power and it becomes expected.

Coolant temp sensor? Coolant is cool at start, runs strong...as it heats up, sensor isn't sure what's going on, so retards the boost (not quite limp, but not as "strong"). May be way off base, but it's my guess...

                  I keed, I keed.

Anyways... long story short, I had the APR in my previous car and went to the AWE. Sitting around in the garage now...

Your boost fades as the engine climbs because you have a set of K03's in your car

Best bet is to scan the car and do a boost leak test.
