Not sure if you are just trying to discredit Jordan or not.. but I really dont see what any of this even remotely relates to sponsorship? Jordan has helped him out because he felt bad how everything has worked out.. not because he was looking to get his name out there. Word travels fast enough with good service and products....
This is a lot more technical then a simple boost leak that was misdiagnosed as a blown turbo...

We stand behind all of our work 100%. We will not release a car to its owner if we're not completely satisfied with the final product (as per the owner's specifications).

        my $0.02

... As an amateur, spectator & enthusiast, everything I've seen from Jordan has been class. It's too bad about the project having it's problems, but from what has been presented here, he has taken ownership. Perhaps no margins made on this single sale, but in the long term, his accountability in the enthusiast community should turn that around exponentially.

        Good on ya.

what? kinda like how your brothers car crapped the bed? You ever figure maybe the problem doesn't lie within jordan but maybe tial.

Well first off I would like to say thanks to everyone for the all the interest in my car. I am not sure how to start this but here it goes.

Over the last year and a bit I have learned a lot of things about the whole process of building a car, and let me tell you this; if I knew what I know now I would do a whole bunch of things different (but I will get back to that later time…) I am sure all of you know about the motor blowing after 50 km on August 15 2009.

First call I made was to Jordan and his reaction was the same thing as mine “OH NO!!!” So while I was on the phone to the tow truck driver, Jordan was on the phone to VAST. The conclusion was “let’s get this thing back to Michigan and figure out what happened.” That’s when all the fun started. Vast pulled the motor apart and found 2 melted pistons second and fourth bank (Correct me if I am wrong with any of this Jordan) so after seeing this they started to figure out what went wrong. The actuator on the wastegates was way to stiff and never opened, which melted two pistons and caused related damage. That’s when the finger pointing started… it was Tial saying it was not there fault and so on and so fourth. The turbos were sent back to Tial so they could perform tests and the conclusion they told Vast and Jordan was all good to go. The turbos were sent back to Vast to be installed on my newly built motor. The only problem was (as Jordan calls him the Yoda of the 2.7, Mike) was not impressed with the way the waste gates were working still. So after he tweaked them to his liking the motor was sent back to Jordan.

So here begins the new saga to the story. I can’t quite remember when the motor showed up at Jordan’s but that does not really matter at this point. Jordan installed the motor around his busy school schedule and then started to do a soft break in on the new motor. Then began the process of tuning, I think it was on revision 12 or so ( once again correct me if I am wrong) getting really close to being finished when Jordan was out getting ready to do another log, letting the car warm up when he noticed white smoke coming out of the exhaust. (I can’t even image what went through his head) So he gives me a call and lets me know what going on. First thing through my mind is what the F*CK is going on, not again! So as it stands now from what I have been told that the problem will be fixed “ASAP”.

As it stands for Tial I can not say too much about them except what I know now… the Tial kits that everyone know, was NOT designed by Tial but rather by a guy who at the time had little knowledge/experience of mechanics or engineering… he had good marketing skills... There have been numerous people that have had issue with there wastegates on these systems. Now they only sell the 650R kit, only the 605 which is not a ball bearing turbo and the 770 kit. After asking why the kit was discontinued I never got a straight answer but recently found out it was because of the issues of the waste gates. So if anyone is looking on an option on Tial I would say RUN and RUN fast because no one needs that headache. I would like to thanks Jordan and VAST for being there the hole time. All I want now is to have my car back for the beginning of June so that I can finally enjoy what I have been spending all my money on. Sorry for the rant but it was long over due.

                      Mark,

We're trying our best to juggle our schedules around so that we can work double-time and get this stuff sorted out. Today I did the VCG's, and all the oil seals on Jeremy's cylinder heads, and I also did a compression test on your motor. The battery started to get a little weak, though, so I'm not satisfied that the results are reliable. I had to get some studying done this afternoon/evening, and I am doing an MCAT prep class tonight, but I will do a leak-down test on your motor in the morning, and let you know what I find out.

                            UPDATE:

Engine leak-down test results were near perfect in every cylinder (between 2.5-7% leakage on a COLD MOTOR).

Spoke with the designer of the turbos and he mentioned that they are designed such that high oil pressure will cause excess oil to flow through the turbos, which could potentially squeeze by the CHRA and into the turbine housing. I checked the catch can kit that we installed, and modified it so that the lines and fittings weren't so restrictive, so that the setup allowed more air flow, effectively dropping the crank case pressure.

No more smoke. Problem solved. Mark will have his car back next weekend.

Thanks to all for your support and encouragement throughout this build (including the troubleshooting!).
