It's out of my hands until I get the motor back in my possession. It's between Mark and VAST to figure out the new turbo setup and motor build. I'm just sitting here twiddling my thumbs until I have a motor to put back in the car.

The motor is finished I went with 2.8 pistions this time around as well as matched flow injector's. The turbo's have been sent back to Tial,So now I am waiting to see what Tial is willing do for me.

So was it a problem with the build? The Turbo? The tune?

Is it 2.8L bore or just the pistons?

It is a 2.8L bore as well as pistion's. From what I am understanding it was a problem with the turbo's. The spring on the wastegates were to stiff as well as there was a problem with some of the machined parts on the turbo set up.



But like I was saying I am waiting for a phone call from Tial right now.

It's good to hear that there is some progress on this car is ther any time frame on when it should be finished out on the road's again? Once it's finished I would like to do some runs with it against my 2010 S4,Since I have added some of my new goodies I think that I am well above the 400 mark

Unless you have LOTS of goodies... I dont imagine it being worth either of your time!

You would be much better off finding a regular stage 3 car.. and even then I dont believe the 2010 S4s will have much of a chance.
(For a comparison, stock vs stock the new S4 s still slightly slower then the RS4... a regular stage 3 B5 S4 WALKS away quite easily from an RS4.

Ahh the horsepower wars, how long will it be until everyone is running stage 8 builds with quad GT40's. I remember not to long ago a GT28rs was a big turbo on the 1.8T. Now those are sooo '06. You're not a real man unless you're running a GT35. Just wait, it will happen on the S4's. BTW Ryan, did you ever get your tuning issues sorted out?

Ok, gonna ask this question. Is there like some sort of international 'stage' standard? Because even if you go across brands of auto's people are always talking about stage 1-2-3... What does it mean?

on a b5 s4
stage 1 chip
stage 2 chip exhaust
2+ chip exhaust downpipes
3 k04 turbos, software, downipes exhaust
3+ rs6 or tial turbos and above stuff

you forgot 3- the bigger turbos without fueling

But thats open to interpretation as well.... what some people considered Stage 3+ wasnt what other people did...

3+ to me would include bigger items like cams, 2.8L etc. Something pretty major over a regular stage 3.
