    More or less

The truth is, if I make a mistake, I'll fix my mistake for free.

I once did a TB job 3 times before I figured out that the hydraulic tensioner wasn't holding pressure properly, and would let the belt loosen slowly after a few hours of driving. Since I supplied the parts, I took responsibility and did the labour for free on the 2nd and 3rd time I did the job. Isn't that right, Jeremy? (thepooj) If the customer supplies the parts, I take no responsibility for those parts, only for my work.

Ahhh the TB memories. I think I can do that job blindfolded now...Jordan's work is top notch and so is the knowledge he brings to the table. That being said he does all the work out of his garage so we all know where he lives

I think its safe to assume that any aftermarket work involves a certain amount of risk. A lot of mechanics won't touch non-OEM parts for that simple issue of reliability/accountability.

At the end of the day we do the bulk of the work on our cars ourselves because we "love" them and want to save money...so we can buy more mods...or pay a mechanic to fix our cars after we cross-threaded a spark plug because changing spark plugs in the middle of the night seemed like a good idea at the time

Looking from the other side, I suppose thats why your 'rates' are lower then every other shop. I know you do great work, I just hope that you have your bases covered.

LOL, TB parts and labour can CAUSE the engine to go boom, if not done correctly!

Small business insurance covers the property of other people that is directly affected by the nature of the business, in this case, a car. Mechanics don't need a license to be covered by insurance, they need it to be recognized by the province for inspections, etc.

At the end of the day you're right, my rates are quite a bit lower than every other shop, I know these cars better than most shops, and I ONLY do business with somebody if they accept the fact that I'm not liable if something happens.

Oh, and as was mentioned above, I do jobs that no other shop would. Mark tried to find a shop that would build his Tial car and couldn't find one, if I understood correctly, and then VAST told him about me.

I'm not tooting my own horn, here, but I think you're being a little harder on me than is merited. How many guys trust themselves to work on their 2.7T without worrying about "unnecessary risk"? I can guarantee that there is a lower risk of me wrecking one of these cars than most people who do their own work.

All true, and I would have Jordan work on my car too, if I didn't think that I was a better mechanic LOL, just thought that the situation needed some lightening up. Truth be told, I have been royally screwed by so called reputable shops, if I weren't doing my own work I would not hesitate to have Jordan work on my car, any person who is modding a car had to be aware of the risks associated with 2x or 3x the HP from factory. Some times you got to pay to play
I may appear to be nice, but don't be fooled, I probably don't like you

That's the big reason why I don't accept liability for these kinds of jobs, the car wasn't designed for 400, 500, 700 hp, etc. If something breaks, that's to be expected!
