A custom or semi-custom tune is always preferable to OTS, even on K03s or whatever else you run, but the drawback is that it is typically more costly.

So how long does it take for a custum tune?

Depends on the car, but probably around 5 hours. When you purchase VAST software from me, I charge for my time to work with the car, but we include free revisions on your tune with the price of the chip. So when I sell a chip, it's already semi-custom straight from VAST based on your altitude, fuel oct, turbo setup, target boost level, supporting mods, etc. The price of these semi-custom tunes is comparable with other OTS chips. Then if you want to customize it further, I just work with the car for a few hours sending information back and forth with VAST until the tune is tweaked so that it's producing optimum performance for your car under your local atmospheric conditions. All you pay for is my time, the revisions on your software are free.

So when you are tunning a car like this how many logs does it take to have the car fully tuned? what is the boost level you are going for. I was also raeding about heat soak will this effect this car?

It really depends on how close each tweak gets to perfection. It's kind of a guess and check type of thing. We tweak the tune, and then run a few logs to see how close to perfection the tune is for the individual car's hardware setup combined with the local atmospheric conditions. It could take a week or so before we find the ideal tune. Maybe even a bit more, depending on how busy the software writer is.

We're running 24psi right now, but we may turn that up a bit depending on how the car responds.

Heat soak can definitely affect this car and any other FI car if you run it hard for long periods of time straight. Especially when you're running the kind of heat this car does! The AWE IC's and EFK really take care of this problem, though. This car means business! haha The only thing that it needs is a meth injection kit. Then the powerplant would be ideally setup. Mark, are you listening?

27psi of boost and this thing is STRONG!

Mark, we could really benefit from a W/M injection kit. The timing is crap at this high elevation with our crappy fuel. If it's not in the cards right now, that's ok, but it sure would help this car perform to its potential.

W/M is definitely in the plan for the future. I definitely want the car to perform to it's full potential. But I would like to find a set up that I could mount in the trunk. So how does 27 psi of boost feel?
