I was "shooting for low 11's" too. In actuality I went 12.7 on 20psi and pump gas and 12.2 on race gas and 25psi. This is on street tires.

I would like to know what he has actually run. What a guy is shooting for is quite often different from what he actually runs...

Im going for 10's again with the new car. I did a 12.9 sure with a crappy 60 foot. No worries, I know it will run a 11 sec pass on 94 oct. and when Im ready I will swap over to the race map and c16 and turn up the boost. I built this car for every day use, I dont need to set any great times yet, to early in the year.

Fair enough. Sounds like a fun build. All I'm saying is that it's easy to talk big, but until there are numbers on the table, it's all just a dream. Like I said, I was quite confident my setup would see mid to high-11's, but without slicks, it just wasn't going to happen.\

I look forward to seeing what your setup produces once you've got it all dialed in the way you want it...

Chris Tapp did a 11.5 with a Tial650 kit he tuned on pump gas.

I'm going on vacation this afternoon for a week, but I just ran out and snapped a couple of quick (and crappy) teaser pics. I will also give a full list of mods when I get back.

How many km's does it to take to break in an engine like this? Do you have to keep it out of boost while you break it in? I am thinking of doing a car like this. I have about $8500 saved up would that be enough? Or would it be better to go with K04's

for 8500 im not sure what it would get you, something like this is definetly more unique then a ko4 setup and obviously alot more power, im guessing this is well over 10k but who knows. as for breaking it in, i dunno 500km or so for the clutch and whatnot.

                                Re: Project Tial650 S4 complete...

                                Well, just got home.

The best 0-60 I ever did in my car was a 3.6....on street tires. This car will probably do 3.4ish, and maybe closer to 3.2 or less with drags.

The engine needs 500km for proper break-in, as well as the clutch. Keep it out of boost and keep the engine below 3500 rpm's.

K04s will yield about 550 chp depending on the supporting setup and tune. This setup will be good for 730 chp or so, depending on how hard you want to push things.

The amount of money you'll need REALLY depends on what your current setup is like, what kind of peripheral parts you'll need (and want), and how extensive you want the engine work to be. PM me if you have specific questions.
