I'm wondering what would you suggest as way to blacken all shiny metal pieces-trim?

I was thinking on some tar-based substance - would be easy to apply (brush) and easy to clean (any solvent).

    So confused by your post.

They make this stuff called "paint". Probably will do what you want.

What are you talking about putting tar on your trim for?

Maybe you are looking for some kind of plasti-dip type substance? I would recommend getting a vinyl dye for plastic pieces, or get formulated trim paint.

For metal, you will need to use real paint. Best results might be to scuff, prime, and paint.

Even better, if its really metal, get it *powder coated*.

If you want to try the plastic type finish, maybe....

yah... not sure what your talking about but like Kor said, get some spray can paint from Crappy Tire and DIY it. I have done this to my grills and such.
