      Re: Spark Plug Gaps

Well it looks like its my turn for the coilpack dance... got a CEL yesterday and I can feel a missfire at idle....

(So its not just you DJ... this is pretty common as the plugs/CP's age!)

Ive always used the NGK's... but Bosch might be worth a shot if thats indeed what the problem is...

I think I bought my last ones at Cdn Tire.... I was suprised to see them there!!

        Re: Spark Plug Gaps

the last ones you bought were 6's .. do not run 6's . no one with a stage 3 should run 6's .. you'll surely detonate . and the additional heat will add resistance which put extra stress on the CP's and cause them to wear quicker . bkr7e's is what you want . call napa and see if their order came in yet

          Re: Spark Plug Gaps

There are lots of stage 3's that are running 6's, which is fine as long as you run a conservative setup (low boost, non-aggressive timing, good fuel, etc.) But yes, you're absolutely right, any aggressive stage 3 should be running 7's (at our altitude 21psi+).

            Re: Spark Plug Gaps

I replaced my plugs with what was originally in there with the APR kit.. and they seem to work fine. As well AWE sends stock heat range plugs with their kits... but Im suprised I didnt catch that when I replaced them...

A LOT OF GUYS ON AUDIZINE ARE SAYING .29-.30???

                  Re: Spark Plug Gaps

ur not gonna make any more power by the gap. u just want to make sure you're igniting the air fuel mixture

                  if it's working, leave it

Thats what I figured, to big a gap and I stand the chance of having my spark (blown out) like a candle... correct.

I have my BKR 7E's gapped at 25 thou's, seems to work better than the 32 I was using before
I may appear to be nice, but don't be fooled, I probably don't like you
