  • Fuel mixing chart??

    After talking to Dinan today to find out what the very best octane to use with with my stage set up... I was told that it was tuned at 91 octane, but could go up to 96 for the absolute best HP gains....

    Now my question is .. Using Shell V power 91 and 103octane race fuel what would the mixture have to be to get as close to 96 as possible...

    Keep in mind i want to make a batch of no more then 20 leters

    If anyone can help me or knows a place online with a easy to follow chart. That would be sick

    You can get Husky/Mohawk 94 which gets you a lot closer to 96.

      About 12L of 91 and 8L of 103 will give you just under 96 (95.8)

            Re: Fuel mixing chart??

            If you want to figure out other mixtures

            (100%) or 1 = (Octane 1 %) or X + (Octane 2 %) Y
            (Desired Octane) 96 = (Octane 1 x %) or 103X + (Octane 2 x %) or 91Y

            so we have

            1 = X + Y
            96 = 103X + 91Y

            from formula one we solve for x or y
            X = 1-Y or Y = 1-X

            Sub into formula 2 (96=103X+91Y)
            96=((103(1-Y)) + 91Y
            96=103-103Y+91Y
            96=103-12Y
            -7=-12Y
            0.58333333333=Y

            So 58.3% is 91 Octane the rest is 103 (41.6%)

            then just multiply that into how much you are mixing

            20L x 0.5833333 = 11.6L of 91
            20L x 0.4166666 = 8.3L of 103

                  Re: Fuel mixing chart??

                  There is no better time to mix a nice batch of 96 octane... then running 96 and tracking the car at Race City....

                  Car ran amazing.... Very pleased with the power, You can really feel a big difference between 91 V power to 96. To bad i ran out of gas on the track near the end of the day.. hehehe

                  It was my first time running a track with the 135...

                  Have to say im addicted now....

                  It feels like a mini go kart around corners, and with 430 Foot pounds i just rip out of the corners into the straights..

                  Until next week... :-)

                    Ethanol Blended though, it takes more work to burn...performance ends up being around 91octane.

                      I stay away from ethanol... Runs like SHI in my car...

                            let me know if you guys are going to buy a drum, I would be in for some. I personally like MS109, seems to be the perfect fuel for our applications, let me know
                            I may appear to be nice, but don't be fooled, I probably don't like you

                              I will call today to see what a barrel of VP109 costs... Last time I used it it was $500 for the barrel, and 100 for the tin. Part of me wants to try out C16.. but I dont feel like replacing my O2's anytime soon! (And Im not sure if you guys have cats or not)
                              Anyone know how long you can store the fuel for before it goes bad? Wonder if any sponsors get a discount?? Tunedub? Tunerworks?

                              Maybe fill 'er up one friday and head to Secret Street?
