  • Control arm kits for B5 S4

Have any of you B5 guys ordered control arm kits before? Are there any places in Canada to get them? I found that the best price online was from JHM (~400USD for early 2000 models aka. aluminum uprights), but shipping will be brutal at around $150 PLUS duty and GST.

I probably don't have to replace everything, but I might as well give the old girl a complete refresh if I'm going to replace pieces anyways...The S4 will be retired to a summer-only car this year so I'm trying to get everything sorted out before I put her away next winter...and I need to find my god-damn boost leak too!!!!

haha, I don't do the traveling mechanic thing I'm much more efficient when I'm in my own garage with all my tools.

Bring it over some time, and we'll get the IC's, dp's, and mack truck sound all done in one shot, and you'll be a happy man

hehe thanks jordan.. i def will give you a call soon then.. i need to have my downpipes welded up still

                            does this sound right

i've gutted the precats myself but hack saw'd them apart at the top.
reweld those parts together and weld spots of the damage my chisel did :(
then cut out of the secondary cats and weld straight pipe in that spot
drill and weld in a secondary 02 sensor in the straight pipe area

this way i don't have to mess with 02 wires
get my ECU updated for no cats

                            vrooooooooooooooooooooommmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

                            sound OK?

oh on the fan clutch.. should i just buy one from ebay or the dealer?

Yeah, that sounds about right, except that I wouldn't recommend welding the O2's into the straight pipes, you'd probably be better off welding in a couple of O2 bungs. That way you can screw in the O2's and remove them later if you need to (accidentally tear an O2 wire or something).

On the clutch fan, don't do either. In our climate it's not necessary. I've done the clutch-fan delete on a number of cars now, including my own, and none of them has had even the slightest problem in the heat of summer. Frees up an extra hp or two, too.
