  • custom exhaust on a BMW

    Has anyone ever done it??

I have to say buying a Exhaust for my 1 has been more of a problem then its worth...

I ordered a BMW performance exhaust (Mid section Cat BAck), but after hearing it i was sad in it sounded almost the same

I was thinking of getting custom mid pipes from where the new exhaust ends to the first set of cats just off the turbo's... But my only concern is would that make the car sound like ****..

THe two full Cat backs i was looking at CP-E and Borla both sound amazing with some nice gain, however with the US dollar being so Fken vs CND im looking at over 2k shipped not installed.

    I need some ideas

That you on McLeod Tr last night about midnight?? I turned in front of you by Henninger Toyota.. looked good!!

I think the mid-pipe solution would work out just fine....

thats because you ordered an OEM exhaust man.. send that crap back! i know there is an aftermarket exhaust for the b5 s4.. vibrant that is really the OEM audi sport exhaust and same deal.. barely any different

i dunno if you want to go custom it may sound like ass

can't you go dinan or the other bmw tuners? tunerworks should be able to help no?

After doing an exhaust on my VW I won't ever do an exhaust again. OEM exhaust is just right on most cars.

depends if you want loud or not.. or just more sporty.. some cars now you don't need one for sure..

The BMW Performance Exhaust is going to be louder,

I don't know why Buddy's exhaust was so quiet, cause i know a lot of people who have this exhaust on a e92. and it sounds great.

There exhaust were almost like mine, but deeper.

Deleting the cats will def make the car louder and throatier, especially on a 135i.

You have to remember the CP-E and Borla exhaust both have the secondary cats deleted.

i assume the 3.0TT has quad cats or well dual cats per bank?

removing even 1 per side should yeild nice results

lots of b5 s4 guys have no cats.. 1 muffler and it sounds insanely good/race carish

or 2 mufflers and zero cats is good

i'd say on the 135 remove both cats if you can without throwing a cel? or buy downpipes
and keep your bmw perf catback and it will sound much better

              thats what i would try

Re: custom exhaust on a BMW

yea but do you have a primary cat still? your 328 is a ton different than the twin turbo thats why i ask

i'm sure bmw has multiple o2 sensors that cause you pain if you remove the cats..

or are you chipped? and does it block the CEL from popping up?
