    Re: lots of audis

Southgate Audi in Edmonton has a 2005 Allroad with 56,543 - Certified - for $32,998. If you look at the carfax (available on their website), it is a 1 owner car but purchased at an auto auction from Quebec. Based on the picture, it has been sitting on the lot for a while.

      Re: lots of audis

yea.. i emailed them about that one

i'd prefer CPO if its an allroad

royal oak has the one i like but they barely budged on the price.. well suck it.. if you want it off your lot then take what you get
and arguing with sales staff was funny.. i told them i found an allroad in toronto with same KM and its 28.5 from a dealer same year and CPO!!! they were like well thats an ontario car.. they use salt.. blah blah
OK.. well the one i looked at is from BC and the other one on the lot is from quebec!
WHO GIVES a crap! for all i know the one in TO is from alberta! they get sent all over the freaking country for god sakes

        Re: lots of audis

When we went to the Edmonton Motorshow, we ended up talking to a Southgate sales rep as I was curious to see if they saw a decline in sales. Of course he said no but how can you trust getting an un-biased response from them. If you look at the Statscan figures, vehicle sales actually increased in January but this was most likely a blip as people were taking advantage of decent end of year clearance events. Given that those Allroads were purchased from an auction, they went for wholesale. You might be better off picking up from the States despite the lower dollar. For instance, there are several cars available on Craigslist from Seattle which have high mileage (100K miles) but are decently priced (12.5K which is negotiable)

yea at south center fine cars the VW sales told us they sell 10 cars every saturday.. yea right! maybe derek can comment on that one

i'll keep looking for what i want.. a6 avant or allroad

i have another car (my old winter beater) to for my wife to drive and it runs fine

i'll see how things go.. i don't want to go to the US if i don't have to.. unless i found something perfect

i'm tempted by the b6 passat wagon still.. it was an 07 with 65k lease back.. had 16" oems with winter tires that were brand new and also had a set of 18" axis decade wheels to boot! both monster and carpet mats.. had the dual xenon headlights and dual climate control.. no nav but mp3 deck.. no sunshades either..

25k in price tho was pretty decent

            Re: lots of audis

Did you look at any BMW station wagons? The problem is the space in the back is most likely limited, especially with a 3 series. You would probably have to move up to a 5 series to get the same amount of room in the back. The Volvos had excellent cargo capacity in the past but as you curve the hatch more, you lose space. The 535i xDrive touring starts at $71K. Ouch.

looked at a few bmws.. i'd go for one for sure

the new b8 a4 avant was pretty tight in the hatch and the rear seat space is basically what my s4 has which is nada lot haha

              i don't want a volvo

What's wrong with Volvo? Have you even looked at one? Not being defensive but I said the same thing till we started looking.

XC70 is in the EXACT same class as an allroad, pretty much it's only competition and they are priced better than the Audi's and the Volvo sales people are..... well not Audi sales people.

                    Re: lots of audis

No electrical issues, I did have transmission problems which was covered under warranty no questions asked.

I also had an 09 XC70 T6 to drive around until it was fixed.

                        Re: lots of audis

When we were looking at wagons we took a pretty close look at the V70 and XC70. In the end, marshmallow suspension, poor AWD performance and poor gas mileage is why we ended up going A4. I must say the sales people at Valentine are spectacular and we also had the option of 0% financing for 6 years. My god, they really wanted to blow out the last few cars for the end of model v70 before changing the body style

i may just hop onto an allroad with no warranty and pray to the gods i have no issues LOL.. i'm not in a hurry either but the allroad has what we want and the longer we wait the harder they maybe to come by with low Kms..

I was chattin with fisch about my need for a new car in a few months..Ill probably buy my moms wagon if they give me a smokin' deal...failing that, subies are looking pretty attractive! I was surprised at their pricing

Seriously Ryan, look at Allroads in the US.

Importing is relatively easy, as long as you have your paperwork taken care of and have the cash at the border. If you go this route, those of us who've done it will be more than happy to make you a checklist. The biggest question is whether to have it shipped to the border or fly in yourself.

Like I said, US$9,000 - US$10,000 for a loaded Allroad w/ ~ 70k-100k km. Newer ones on CPO (lower mileage of course) for mid-twenties.

I still don't understand how Volvo's AWD is so inferior to Audis, a number of other cars use a very similar system. I've heard this on here before but no one could really tell me why, unless it's just the typical Viscus coupling vs Haldex argument.

And the XC70 vs. Allroad will be very much the same as far as the marshmallow suspension.
