Ryan, it wasn't bad at all buying from the states...the worst part is paying the duty and tax on a used car lol! I say go for an allroad The hatch space is going to be very similar no matter what wagon you're looking at...it's when the seats are down that it makes the difference.
yea i want to try and buy local.. royal oak has an atlas grey 05 with 50k on the clock with solid body paint and black inside.. i'm gonna go check it tomorrow
still don't need a car until end of april so i'm hoping the ones i like are still there by then :/
well after a lot of tests today i beleive we'll be going allroad
VW sales staff weren't exactly helpful at northland
b6 passat was OK
allroad drove amazing and we can get warranty until 2011 which is fine with me
b5.5 passat wagon is cool but hard as hell to find with 4motion
I was looking at the passat too. I'm 95% sure they were only available in 4-motion with the v6 which is why you won't find one when looking at models with the 2.0T
You can get a 2004 Passat 1.8T 4-Motion Wagon in manual. Almost bought one of these cars from Ontario last fall. Price was something like $12,000 with 80,000km.
ya i was trying to find a 1.8t with 4motion and the 5spd..
i'm sure we are going allraod tho.. the options make it a winner plus its so solid.. well audis are built 10x better than VWs and VWs are built pretty damn well already
yea.. the passat b5.5 had enough room.. we'll see how we go with this allroad.. we get warranty for another 3 years on it which is awesome and i'll leave it stock as the wife is driving it.. i like the audi because its built better.. tons of airbags.. better stereo.. the air suspension is pretty cool
teh 2.7T in stock was great to drive.. its so torquey i was going around in 4th doing like 30km/hr.. well thats how i drive my s4 too..
test drove a b6 passat wagon 2.0t 6spd today.. quite nice but man vw interiors need some work.. i guess i'm used to audi too much
went and put an offer on the allroad and audi didn't want to play ball so meh the hunt continues or the ball is in thier court.. i'm guessing i'll get some emails monday..
actually after driving a manual b6 passat wagon i'd almost prefer a TIP.. its way bigger than my s4 and having to pay attention to where the back end is/shift annoyed me.. of course i'd get used to this
i want something under 70,000KM
ps.. a4/s4 avants are too tiny in the rear seats for us.. the hatch is OK but not great.. :/
