  • Misfire?!?

Will one bad EGT Sensor (bank 1), a bad O2 sensor (P1113 - bank 1 sensor 1) and putting the engine under load (moderate acceleration through 4k rpm) cause misfires (Cylindar 1 & Cylindar 2)?

Was driving home tonight, went out to pass someone who was speed limit challenged, and as the car was getting into boost, it chugged bad and my solid CEL started to flash. Flashing went back to solid after about a km or so and my list of fault codes grew.

    P0442
    P1454
    P1113
    P0300
    P0302

(plus a failing airbag control module).

    I love my car....

    Re: Misfire?!?

i know when i had a bad EGT under boost the car drove like crap

could be a coil pack but to have 2 go.. usually flashing cel means don't drive lol.. well my experience with a flashing cel is coil packs.

when did you change your plugs last?

Cool, going to replace EGT and possibly N28 next week. Have to look into plugs on the car's maintenance history. I have not changed them in the last year.

I suspect the flashing CEL was from too much raw fuel into the cat because of the misfire.

jeff the plugs are hella easy to do.. i did mine in the fall.. last ones were on the car for the last i dunno how many years.. 4 since i've owned it anyways.. put on some ngk brk6es and they work fine.. going to put on some 7e's soon though.. the copper ones die quicker

here is my list of todos lol

timing belt and misc.. at 116k now i guess i should get to it hahaha
cam seals.. if they are leaking
          flush coolant completely
          brake flush
          rear/front diffs oil changes

          then on my own
          pollen filter
RS4 intercoolers (hose kit finally shipped today)
          plugs
stupid heater motor that squeaks (oil or smash or something)

            oh

i got a flashing CEL this year

it was from starting my car in -40
the car sounded like a tractor and kept going wooo woooo wooo wooooo
flashing CEL.. then once warmed up threw a CEL
drove from red deer to calgary.. scanned car..

got some stupid code about the throttle body.. i guess it didn't like -40..

next oil change i'm tempted to install one of those pan heaters.. although i rarely park the car outside like that.. but it was sad
