Re: Airbag light - where on VAG-COM?

I was able to clear the airbag light when I removed my seat with the VAG-COM, so that should do it. I have the full working version with cable if needed!

Re: Airbag light - where on VAG-COM?

According to rosstech's site Module 15 is functional for the b5 s4 so I'm betting that your problem is reoccuring. I know it's possible to clear airbag lights on a pre-02 as my A4 is a 99 and like I said I've cleared it's airbag light a few times. Try someones Ross-Tech out first as maybe that's your issue, you could come and use mine but I'm in Okotoks. If the unit needs replacement I'd shop around, if a used one from a parts car can work it could be aquired for muuuuuch cheaper.

Oh and Ryan yes I bought myself an A4 ~1 year ago, well it's for the wifey but since we both work from home I'm usually driving it, and for when it's gone I got myself a 91 CQ for winter beater duties. Seems I'm getting rid of my VW stockpile and now getting a good audi stockpile going.

I wouldn't be surprised if the module was dead. It's not uncommon on these cars for the air bag modules to die after 8-10 years.

          Codes are:

          65535 128
          Control module [sporadic]

          00588 170
          Airbag Igniter-Driver Side -N95
          Speed deviation too great [sporadic]

          Thoughts?

I don't know if I'll make the meet or not. Can try. The VAD Mobile *is* as real as they come. It is what George uses at TuneDub...99% sure. But...I'm willing to try a VAG-COM setup some time "just in case".

Re: Airbag light - where on VAG-COM?

I'll be interested to see if the "real" Vag-Com will be able to clear it. The VAD Mobile is the same as the VAG-Com, it can do everything that the "real" VAG-Com can do, it's just made for the palm. Hell, a good generic OBD2 reader should be able to clear this too, that's the point of the OBD2 diagnostics - it's a STANDARD! A generic OBD2 reader just won't have to ability to program the electronics as we can with the VAG/VAD coms.

If you're getting a control module (sporadic) code, then you're most likely done. No wonder that it won't clear. Depending on what the actual cause is, we may be able to fix it.

I had an airbag light for almost 2 years, I would clear it and it kept coming back, then one day I cleared it and it stayed cleared, I dont know how or why, it just did, that's my story, I'm stickin to it
I may appear to be nice, but don't be fooled, I probably don't like you

                              Hi Jeff,
Not sure if you've sorted this out yet but came across this car being parted noticed the airbag module is only like $80 + shipping if your interested or anybody else looking for some parts for that matter.
Wow I'm an idiot I guess I should throw in the link. http://www.audizine.com/classifieds/...ct=7930&cat=54
