How many miles on the car? I was thinking with this cold weather and ice buildup maybe something is just frozen/jammed up and not allowing the clutch to fully engage. Back in the day I had a 69 Chevelle with a 3 speed. I once had the exposed shifter rods get covered in ice and I was not able to shift gears.

i have 200000 now no idea wen it was last replaced as i had bought the car used, i keep it in a heated garage so i dont think its frozen, its not leaking and the fluids are fine. best part is i need new brakes to..

Only because its somewhat recent, Southgate Audi (CROOKS) had a book time of ten hrs to remove tranny , Im sure jordan/cris would have a better idea or somebody whos completed the job. If you should need a clutch Ide put in a RS4 clutch myself incase of upgrading..

Do you have any issues putting it in 1st/2nd gear ?

Tunedub should give you a fair price for the job.
Both my 98 2L Jetta and my 01 TDI Jetta needed clutches just after the 200,000km mark, so its not unreasonable that it would be toast IMO.

George charged me ~$1,100 tax in, OEM clutch no flywheel, and was super on the follow-up.
