  • Husky 94

Husky adopted the long time BC gas pricing and octane rating:

    There are 3 grades:

    90-92---94

The 87 and 89 are gone.

Wondering if other suppliers will follow?

I thought they never had 89... not even sure about 87. I thought it was more like 88, 90, 92, 94

Didn't I read on Beyond this is what gets done for the winter months? There are a bunch of other stations now too serving up the precious 94 oct....I'm happy about that, I only have to drive to hawkwood now...

given the altitude here, even those of us running high HP and needing 94 (as specified at sea level) can get away with 91 without issue.
obviously having the higher octane is an added bonus, but its not necessary unless you have quite a lot of engine and fueling work done

I find it hard to believe you are pinging with 91 without an extremely aggressive tune, or quite high boost levels.

Husky 94 is no better than Petro or Shell 91 from my research.

/\/\/\ correct. /\/\/\ the difference is minimal.

pinging at this altitude on 91 octane means you are running WAY too much timing. i suppose you could add a few litres of c16 fuel for daily driving??

Nothing great, 94 program, and intake/exhaust mods....Was running manual boost for a while but now back to the N75...The 94 program was a big change from my 91 program for sure, and my understanding was it was significantly leaner

                      Re: Husky 94

it sounds like there is some other factor contributing to your pinging. a 94 program (as specified at sea level) should not ping on 91 at this altitude. i second the comments about maybe running too much timing.

So, just to be clear...you were running your 94 program with an MBC turned up on 91oct with intake and exhaust mods?

If so, you were running too much boost for the timing that the software was calling for.
