LOL is this board a bit biased? The 335i *in stock form* outperforms the brand new Audi S5 on the track...

We get snow yes, but IMO don't need Quattro here in Calgary. The roads are clear 99% of the time anyways. I drove quattro last year and there was only 2 days out of the year where I was happy to have it. (going up a hill when every one else was stuck haha).
Driving up a snow mountain is a different story, but we also own an SUV so I'm not too worried.

But I think you are all right - this S4 is pretty cool, and with exhaust and chip I will be more into it. (its just so expensive for mediocre gains!) And even if I get to use the quattro 2 days out of the year it might make it worth it, because on those days in a BMW I would be either staying at home or taking the train...

        Am I crazy???
What would you rather have? What will hold its value better?
Easy choice, keep the Avant, a much bigger head turner than a plain ol 335i. Your colour is awesome, Avant is roomy, rare I'm sure since they aren't bringing the B8 Avant S4's to NA and plus Quattro, I mean how many times have you been behind someone at a light in the winter and it takes them forever to get their non-audi going up a slight hill! Hot car, keep it!!

                    Re: Tough choice, need help

PS I always just assumed that my car was Nogaro blue! Now that I think of it, nogaro is a little more flat and smurfy than mine. Mine is just slightly deeper blue and also has a little bit of fleck to it as well. Sprint blue it is!

That is one hot looking car. Now that I am not an Audi owner, I would still say go with the Audi. It's rare both in style and color. AWD is nice whether you need it or not. And there will be more immature crowd buying up the 335 and family. The BMW might perform better in certain aspects, but uniqueness wins.

Thanks guys! Decided to keep it.
I found a rollover RS4 being parted out so I'm gonna grab the pedals and carbon fiber trim to update the look of the interior. (hate the wood grain trim) Then tint, swaybars, suspension, and finally exhaust. It is a great car and I can't wait til the snow hits!!!

Also apparently there is no B8 S4 Avant being imported to North America so that also helped me decide to keep it.

The dealers offer was straight out of the black book. The difference between 2 cars is about 7K. No other dealer will give you much more.

How was the 335 tuned? Unless they had a Dinan flash it wouldn't have warranty. I think I would have done the same thing you did. That S4 is very unique. Even though the 335 would be way more fun to drive way faster.

                                Re: Tough choice, need help

I do beleive that stock for stock, the 335i is a better drivers car. Just not for the winter.
The 335i is depreciating still (2007 - still so new), whereas the 2005 S4 has leveled off a bit. Come spring time, I am sure I can get a 335i for cheaper, with lower KMs, etc etc. This is why it is not a wise move for me.

The 335i had engine problems (misfiring) as it was running an experimental race tune that was pushing 400WHP, not meant for street gas, nor this altitude.
Car was reposessed and was impounded after owner was caught illegal street racing. It has every upgrade imaginable but with such a shady past, I don't want to take a $40,000 gamble on that car.
