That almost looks to me like a hardtop covered in fabric to make it look soft toppish/hide the shape of the hardtop.

Upon closer inspection I think the roof on that test car is actually a cover hiding what is really underneath, I still think this car loses some of its charm in the roadster version, I miss the side blades.
