  • Hello everybody!

I'm long time reader, but first time poster here. I really like this forum because it's full of advices on everything one could need for an Audi

    I'm a proud owner of a Imola Yellow Stage II 2000 Audi S4 B5.

I will post pictures of it as soon as I resize them.

I am from Montenegro (Europe), so I wonder what units you guys use in Canada?

    temp: Celsius
    distance: km
    volume: liters
    fuel consumption: l / 100 km

Those are the ones we use in Europe.

I hope to became a regular poster here!

Here is 1 by 1 as I upload.

            Re: Hello everybody!

I'm glad you like my ride!

It has 80.000km on it, 6 spd manual, BORLA exhaust, GIAC ECU, shortshifter, 18" BBS wheels, K&N air filter, aftermarket sound system (upgraded my bose with better amplifiers and a woofer) and just installed Pioneer AVH-P4000DVD DVD Receiver using step by step installation instruction from audigeek forums, but the link to instructions I found here.

I also have VAG-COM cable and software for diagnostics.

I have a question for you guys. Like most B5 owners, I'm having problems with instrument cluster. Central display is loosing pixels, especially during day. I guess it's because of high temperatures we get here. I decided to replace instrument cluster, but the current one is for USA market (miles). I need the one for EU market with km/h, Celsius, etc. on it. I went to local dealer and they said I could only replace it with the same one. They said I couldn't use one for EU market, which I think is BS!

It makes no sense to me and I wonder if any of you guys have done it before?

My second question is regarding the same matter. Can I just change instrument cluster gauge face, and if YES, can I get a link to place online order? Current gauge is for USA and I need one for EU market, with km/h in it instead of mph.

This is what my current cluster looks like - http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j1...n/IMG_1554.jpg

and this is what I need - http://www.tachopix.de/generate.php?...9438888F75.jpg

            Thanks for replies!

              Re: Hello everybody!

You can use an EU cluster, but you will need to recode it.

You can also swap the gauge face plates if you want instead of replacing the entire cluster with an EU cluster. You can find them on ebay.

                Sorry for not replaying earlier!

I guess recoding instrument cluster is not something I could do? But local dealer shouldn't have problems with it?

Gauge face plates I found on ebay are silver and, honestly, I don't like them. I'd rather keep mine with miles than get those. It's a matter of preferences I guess. I found some websites that make custom face plates but were expensive. I can buy the whole EU cluster for the same price

                Jordan,
being VAST rep you may be the best person for this question. Is there a website I could order non-OEM parts and have it shipped overseas, to Montenegro? Do you, or the company you work for, do this kind of services?

It would save me some money, and I could get better, aftermarket, stuff, which I cannot find anywhere near mu country.

One more question. I gave GIAC ECU. I believe it is set for 93 octane fuel. Is there a way to reprogram it myself for racing 100 octane fuel, or this can be only done in a shop?

                Thanks for replies!

p.s. Take a look at Instrument cluster topic i posted today. May be usefull to someone!

                  Re: Hello everybody!

You need VAG com to recode your cluster. The dealer or any other Audi shop should have a copy of VAG.

Yes, we will ship parts to you overseas. Shipping isn't cheap, but if you're willing to pay for it, we'll send you whatever you want.

You need to have GIAC add the 100oct program to your chip. You have to purchase it.

                      Re: Hello everybody!

Yes, it really is in excellent shape. I have been searching for a good one, and I found it.

Guys, since I'm hitting 90k soon, I guess I'll have to do timing belt job soon. I wonder what would be the best place to buy all the OEM parts cheap. I'm also interested in front control arm kit and OEM audi S4 B5 17" wheels.

Do you Jordan have all of this stuff for sale, and if you do can you tell me the price of it? And could you also give me an estimate of shipping costs?

I found an online UK site that sells the kit - https://sslrelay.com/s74326199.onean...SRK01998B%3D29

I wonder if I could get it cheaper than that?

                      Thanks for replies!

Edit: I just found 12pc. Meyle Front Control Arm Kit (w/end links) at performance cafe. Is this Meyle kit much worse than the OEM one?

I can get you the TB kit for $340 plus shipping, and I need an address to get you a shipping estimate.

I could also get you the wheels if you want, but shipping will kill you.

Hey, sorry to bother you, but it will definitely be much cheaper if I get the kit from you and just have it installed at local dealer. They charge parts + labor for TB job 1250$ total. That's insane!

I just had a upper control arm, 2 steering tie rod ends and the anti roll bar C links replaced at the price of almost 700$. It's just a steal...

I'll send you my address for shipping estimates in a PM.

                          Thank you!

                            Re: Hello everybody!

Guys, today my water temp gauge started failing. It shows temp raising and then drops down dead. Then again raises to normal temp level and drops down again. I think I even felt a slight decrease in power. Is this possible? I'm not sure if the reading is because of bad instrument cluster or a faulty temp sensor? Is this a common issue?

I did check coolant level and it is just fine. No leaking or whatsoever.

you need to replace your coolant sensor with the new style ( blue or green top i forget the color)
