    Re: Oop ?

Sounds like something may be a little screwy in your setup...most people just pull the relay and add a little jumper wire. If you're taking it to George anyway, just have him figure it out...or let Jordan have a look

      Re: Oop ?

I took it to George. He got me the relay box for $50, and 1.5 hours to get DRL. I guess the hourly rate is $100 now.

Anyways I am gonna rip the box out once I find where it is and what to do. All it does is turning on the headlights, in this case the Euro HID's, as well as the side markers and tails. DRL should be a dimmed headlight, not all the lights!!!

Argh! Had to get "DRL" to pass OOP. I am thinking with all the lights on all the time chances are they will wear out faster.

Well, lights (and indeed electronics in general) are rated for duty cycles.

So the big deal is how many times they get turned on/off. Remember when mom/dad used to complain about flipping the light switch on/off quickly? Well that's because it wears the light bulb out. Generate heat, dump heat... etc. In a microprocessor the pathway for energy has insulation that is atoms thin so it doesn't take a lot to heat/cool cycle it until it cracks.

I leave my hifi system on 24/7-365 for this reason (and solid state sounds best when it's warm anyways, but I digress).

You can easily wire the lights so only the sidemarkers come on for DRL's.. at least thats the way I have mine wired...I believe its just removing another relay.
