  • Oop ?

    Hey guys,

I read that cars need to have DRL regardless of age when it comes to Out of Province inspection. Is that true? The headlights on my car goes like this:
Nothing when in off position, no DRL. The headlight light is on the display. One the first position as well as the 2nd the headlights are on. My dash lights are on constantly.

    Easy fix?

Yes, you need DRL's legally in Canada on your car. Somebody has jimmy rigged your setup and it sounds messy. I can fix it for you if you want to bring it out to my place.

yea to get them back you just need to put the relay back and remove the jumper wire that disabled them.. i think its relay 214 but not 100% i'd have to check my tool chest at home to see it

                    Re: Oop ?

Another question. George told me the CV boot needs replacing, but he didnt have the replacement part for the CV joint. Where would be best place to get the joint? It's like $700 from Audi, and $200 ish from USA he said. I decided to wait for the joint and then do the boot together.

buy an entire new axle from raxles.com

phone them and ask for marty.. its like 180US for an entire axle/joints,etc and comes with everything you need then you send yours back.. i did this last fall and cost me 280 for the axle and 1 hr labour from george

                        Ryan,
Jumping the DRL relay (#209) will deactivate the low beams while running DRLs, but it won't do what he's experiencing...

                          Re: Oop ?

Coolio. I guess if the guy at George's shop can do the OOP without the DRL and CV fixed I can wait a bit. Kinda want to get OOp so I can register.

haha no problem Ryan. It does sound like he has some bigger issues with his light setup, that's for sure.
