  • Rear passenger side wheel noise

It's a 'coin in a tin can noise'. Its quite noticeable when I am driving slowly and over bumps. At highway speed it's not as noticeable probably because of road or wind noise.

When I press on the brakes the noise is gone. So may be the caliper is hitting the rim ?? I have 18" and some spacers on it and the tire protrude slightly beyond the wheel wells.

    What might it be?

Could be a shot wheel bearing. Jack that corner up and spin the wheel. Caliper hitting the rim should be fairly obvious.

When a rear bearing on my Jetta went, I noticed the sound went away under some conditions like cornering.

did you recently replace your brake pads or rotors? also have you checked all of the control arms for free-play?
