My Dad has a 2004 535i but is now looking to import a 6 speed 535i from the states. I told him to be careful because I read a thread on here that they add bogus fee's for stupid conversions to make it "Canadian".

He looked on the internet on his own but came up empty. I am looking to see if anyone can guide me to information on importing a BMW into Canada from the US. If you have personal experiences thsoe are good too, but mostly he's just looking for more information and can't find any good sources. Thanks!

EDIT: He's also sent off THREE e-mails to a local dealer, BMW Canada, and BMW in the States. They have yet to give him any helpful information (I know exactly why too)

    Re: Importing

There is the thread I started on here

Try searching beyond, there is a ton of info there:

    http://forums.beyond.ca/st/218070/an...-works-at-bmw/

    http://www.cbc.ca/money/story/2008/02/28/cars.html

Honestly if you couldnt find anything about this, you should try again because its ALL over all the forums and easy to find on google.

Count on $5000 at your dealership when you bring the car to Canada, no matter what.
