AVIC F900 in B5 S4?

Pioneer has announced their new line of AVIC car navigation decks. I figured with the price drops on the D3 that something new was coming. Have a look at www.avic411.com



I'd consider it as it's got integrated bluetooth and doesn't need the DVDs for navigation, but the finish is quite shiny. I don't know how it would "fit" with the B5 dash. I believe the button colors are still customizable and would color match the red.

Thoughts?

wow that looks pretty sick

i posted a guide a while back of what you'd need for the d3 so its more than likely the same for this deck.

Yeah, I'd expect the same as well...just not sure about the looks of it. In "fit" I was meaning aesthetically.

I am jealous. I wound up going with the AVH-P4000DVD which is similar to the D3 but has no nav. There are other small differences like the lack of customizable backgrounds, but overall I am happy with it.

Have they finally found a way to label the presets on the radio, sat radio and ipod inter, quite annoying when you dont know the song title and station label and have to scan blind.

Did it myself with the Metra harness and cage. Good info in another thread on this site. Look for "replacing Bose head unit". Good luck and I would love to see it when you have it in.

According to the website it shows you everything and where the D3 lacks the new F-series makes up for it 10 fold!

Also, what parts did you buy? From what I've been reading it takes the same pieces as the D3? That in mind I think I need:

Wiring harness comes from the website for free!!
Metra 99-9102 dash kit (have to cut the middle bar to fit in the double-DIN)
Pioneer adt-va133 mounting bracket (use the inner ring from here)
Metra 40vw53 antenna adapter (so you can actually use your radio FAN960!!)
Stereo removal keys (any places besides the stealership to buy them??
