Re: lots of legs left
Haha, Kyle isn't stage 3 quite yet...
The stock ratio of 6th gear is the limiting factor here. There is plenty of power to push all the way to 7000 rpms, but you max out the tranny at 309 kph. There is talk of swapping in a 6th gear from the euro TDi tranny with a lower ratio (0.60 as opposed to the stock 0.68 IIRC) to raise fuel economy, and subsequently, possible top speed. That would put 6th gear at 350 kph at 7000 rpmLast edited by The_Jerbel; 04-02-2008, 11:19 PM.Jordan

Re: lots of legs left
Currently my car consists of the engine in one part of my garage, the tranny in another, and the body taking up the rest...I think it would be pretty hard to get up to those speeds right now lol.Kyle

Re: lots of legs left
Yeah, the swap we're discussing is a little different, it isn't swapping in an entire TDi tranny, just taking 6th gear, and perhaps 1st gear and swapping them into the S4 tranny. A longer 1st would be nice because at stage 3, first gear is about as useful as it is in a 1 ton pickup truck, only good for launching.Last edited by The_Jerbel; 04-03-2008, 09:50 AM.Jordan

I just talked to Prince a couple of minutes ago, he hasn't received the cores yet. Sorry it's kept you waiting so long. I'm sure you're getting excited to get the car back together with your new-found stage 3 gloryLast edited by The_Jerbel; 04-03-2008, 09:52 AM.Jordan
