    Re: Throttle Position Sensor?

I'm booked in on the 17th and can have a report after then. The service department had all my records from Glenmore. Unsure about a loaner, but they'd do have a shuttle that will pick you up from "anywhere".

Ah, this issue is becoming more interesting now. The problem is becoming more persistent (when car is cold), yet still no CEL. Interestingly, however, today it was doing it's thing and then the ABS and Traction control lights came on. They went off and stayed off after I re-started the car, but it wasn't the kind of warning light I was expecting. Two long weeks until my appointment on the 17th....let's see what else it does!

          Heh, if only....

Car keeps dropping out of boost with my current issue. Don't see how I'd be able to start blowing the 'ole smoke. Only have a month of CPO left so I'm figuring I'll have it all figured out (how to blow them up) in about 7 weeks.

Just loosen up one of the turbos feed lines, stab a gaping hole through the tbb and drive it like ya stole it. That should work.

              Re: Throttle Position Sensor?

Had the car in today for the LAST day of my CPO. Problem was identified as a bad brake light switch. Not much time to road test after it was fixed, but it seems to makes sense. They also replaced a bad ambient air temperature sensor while it was in. I've been up to Royal Oak Audi a couple of times. Waaay better than Glenmore IMO.

Now...my problems are my own...no more warranty.

My loaner car for the day was a brand-new (400 km) A3 2.0t DSG S-Line. Nice car. I don't necessarily know that'd I'd spend the $46k they were asking for the one in the showroom, but for a service loaner...I'll take it.

Now I'm off to TuneDub on Friday to do a tip-tranny flush (hopefully get rid of the whine that I thought was turbos failing...Jordan put that fear to rest for me) and the rest.....is ugly from my piggy bank.

                Re: Throttle Position Sensor?

Did they even check for codes? The brake light switch will not cause hesitation under load. If you bring the car over I'll pull your codes for you. If you don't have a boost leak (and I'm confident you don't, since I boost leak tested your car last time you brought it out), then the symptoms are still pointing to a bad EGT sensor or something related...

                    Re: Throttle Position Sensor?

Hesitation was under little to no boost and acted like it was ignoring the throttle input. I have scanned the car with the VAD-com and there were no issues. The diagnosis makes sense.

The palm we use for the VAD died so if I need a scan some time I'll call you Jordan. Thanks for the offer.

                      Re: Throttle Position Sensor?

I guess you searched the forums after the May meet, this is a more common issue than people might think. Very common in C5 A6. And yes it will absolutely cause hesitation under intial load and no it doesn't always throw a code.
I may appear to be nice, but don't be fooled, I probably don't like you
