  • New S4 owner :)

    Hi everyone!

I just bought my 2nd Audi. 2001.5 S4 and very excited. I got it insured/registered yesterday and took it for a ride in town. Lots of fun

    My previous Audi..

I have an appointment with Tunedub next Tuesday so hopefully they'll tell me if there is anything wrong with my car besides these:

Quick newbie question (afraid to ask in AW)
I know I should replace my TBB and DV/BPV just in case..

TBB - Is APR Bi-pipe worth it over SAMCO silicon? and what's the best place to get them? Concept-1 seem little pricey...

DV/BPV - Is Forge or Bailey's worth the money compare to Bosch? and of course a good place to buy?

I don't mind buying things from US online store, as long as they are reputable company..

    Thanks everyone..

I can hook you up with 710n's for DV's (the best bang for your buck. I have Bailey's on my car, but only because it came with them when I bought it).

I would check the ebay hose kit out for the TBB. Lots of people say that the quality is just fine and you get a heck of a deal for what you pay. I would skip the bi-pipe for sure.

      Re: New S4 owner

For the Bi-Pipe, You should be fine with a Samco/eBay hose kit, but the APR unit still gives the best piece of mind for reaplcing it and forgetting about it.

710n's work just fine, and save you some coin.

One recommendation... dont EVER get a ride in a Stage 3 S4... or else you can kiss your wallet goodbye!

            Thanks everyone for reply...

I'm never conformable buying stuff off of ebay.. got burned too many times..

I guess I'll start looking for some SAMCO TBB and 710'n DVs...

they are not difficult to replace, are they?

The TBB and DV's take all of about 5 minutes to replace...front of the engine, right on top. You'll just have to remove the cover.

So you didnt get the CH's? Thats too bad... Nice set of wheels

I got silver too.. theres a few of us around... and one that looks identical to mine! Arrggh (Tinted.. Euro plate.. HID's, just not as quick

Welcome to the boards and congrats the car looks great. S4 FTMFW! I love your old coupe quattro as well, I'd like to get a nice clean one for next winter perhaps. As for tbb and dv's I agree with the Samco's and 710's, but just warning if you go through Chris at Das Auto House for Samco you'll be waiting quite a while as I ordered a tbb from them about 3-4 months ago and I still haven't seen s***.

I know a lot of people don't like buying stuff off of eBay, but you'll honestly save yourself ALOT of money. I just picked up the Samco "knock-off" hose kit for $160 shipped to my door (and no duty somehow!?!?). I had them side-by-side with a buddies real Samco units and honestly could not tell the difference. There is even a stamp on the inside that you can see with a flashlight that is the same (possibly made at the same factory and Samco charges more for their name)...
