The pictures online looked great, but in person is a whole other story.

        Just beautiful.

They had a grey one with a red interior at the Edmonton car show, and I was just drooling. Can't wait to see those on the roads.

                      Re: 135i pricing

i believe the price is fair...you get a premium brand new model bimmer that is pretty small with 300HP and 300LB-FT of torque . Also, it is the very first year of 1 series, which is gonna be the first year of 1 series in 20 years as well. Fo $50,000 or so...you get pretty loaded version with pretty much whatever color leather and exterior you want. 6 speed manual, 3 litre, twin-turbocharged engine. I think the car is sweet...the really high financing os 7.7% is a lot, but what do you expect from a brand new line of series models and also a BMW??.....all i can say that it beats GTI or the GLI by a LOT ...eventhough you gotta pay more

35K USD vs 41.7K CAD base prices. They are not all that far off, trying to import one would actually cost more with all the BS fees.

135i with M package an leather for 36 months at 7.75 is 906.75/Month. That is with a 57% residual.

I was a bit shocked on that price.

                            Re: 135i pricing

Saw this at the auto show, not really that impressed.

For a new car in the very low 40's (if you can get one under 45) then yeah, its a good new car for that much.

Does it beat a car for 50k? No, there are better cars for 50K

Does it beat buying a slightly used car for 45k? Nah

It just doesn't seem to have the presence that other BMW's have. It looks too narrow and strange, not very imposing or aggressive, sort of plain and small. Interior has some cheapness for a BMW, feels like the cheapest BMW you have ever been in if you ask me, worse than any 3 series or other for the past 5+ years.

Yeah good engine but thats all I can say, probably drives nice and has a nice price, those are the upsides.

It feels like what you would expect, a one series. I still don't mind it but I take issue in buying the bmw that is the smallest number possible on the badge because at the end of the day its the bottom of the line irregardless of the engine.

                              Looked better then pictures.

Ah I actually thought worse than pictures. I was excited to see it but the cheaper materials become evident when you look, the exterior plastics and trim, the paint even is worse than other models. The inside too, looks great in photos, but its like an imitation of the other models done in cheaper form? The only way I really think it can live up to expectations in the looks department is to get one at a REALLY good deal then dump some money into mods, inside and outside both.

But if you think about it, compared to the WRX STi and EvoX at the show, its similarly priced and has the performance and construction to match those, inside and out. Evo has nicer seats maybe but even though 135 is cheap for a european car, its still better than the WRX and Evo which are really just slightly improved Lancer or Imprezza interiors and exteriors. But in some ways the GTI or A3 or cars like that really beat or match the 135, and if you spent a little more and get something like a base TT or base Cayman you are getting way more fun
