  • Better late than never...

Santa forgot to stop at my house this year...but he did come back in the end. I FINALLY got all of my turbo upgrade parts last week and I can now start thinking about how I'm going to do the swap as I'm hoping to do it myself.

Everyone knows what turbos look like, but here are a couple pics anyway

    The snails!

TB kit, engine, tranny, and snub mounts, new MAF, new coolant tank, etc.

Not pictured is a new, temporary ecu (which I only got because I pretty much stole it!), new torque converter, and a few new seals and gaskets. Now that I have everything in order I can begin to get nervous about blowing everything up doing the instal haha.

Nice work Kyle, now the fun begins. Did you get your fueling sorted yet, if so who did you decide to go with? Are you still looking to go level 10? Looking good man, the car is going to be one mean machine for sure.

I'll let you know, but I'll more than likely do it in my Dad's shop which is out in Chestermere...more room/tools, and a lift.

No, not yet...that's why I mentioned the steal of a deal on the ECU. I managed to score a GIAC 3- ECU off ebay for really cheap so I'm just going to run with that for a while (which is why I needed the newer MAF). As for the TC, I went with 3zero3. More and more people are using them now and the reviews are really good so far. They actually replace the old crappy seal in the TC rather than just try and repair it, which apparently L10 has done to some people...just causing failure again down the road.

Sounds good man! If you need a hand with the swap or any questions let me know. Also, talk to me before getting a fueling kit. I'm currently involved with VAST performance and can get really good prices.

Thanks for the offer Jordan, I appreciate it! I'll probably be bombarding you with PM's when it gets closer to swap time lol...by the way, did you do any seals or things of that nature when you did yours? I want to do cam tensioner seals, valve cover gaskets, etc. while I have the engine out...I assume it's not difficult, but I've also never done it on an Audi before...

I didn't do the seals in the interest of time! The snow was flying and I didn't have time to do them. I would do the rear main seal while the tranny is off the engine as well if I was you. The valve cover gaskets and cam tens seals are easy with the engine out.
