That is weird. How does it get turned off when you're out of town? Is it always the same sensor?

Haha, yeah I would fully support club participation in stg3 installs, especially if it started tomorrow morning! lol

does the alarm have a vibration detector/sensor? might be being Set off by cars/trucks passing by if its parked on the road. my old GTI used to set my brothers off just from the exhaust note vibrating his car.

      (sorry for the hijack)

LOL, it's actually a home security system that I had setup in his house during the summer.

Now I need to ask you guys a favor. I'll be doing the timing belt on this beast before I get her all back together and have never done one before on this car. Has anyone here done a timing belt on the 2.7t that could offer me any pointers? Anyone have the cam lock bar that I could maybe borrow or rent? Thanks guys

No I didn't, I just did piggie pipes. They are fine for my needs. I think that after market DP's are too much money for too little reward.

it's not about buying one, it's about being able to keep it..... then join eurodrivers and try to keep up! lol

LOL, yeah the initial price tag is but a mere fraction of what the car really costs. I think I've paid the same amount in maintenance and upgrades after I bought the car as I did when I picked it up!

yea no ****.. you can get them for like 25-35k now.. but then maintenance is a beotch.. i've easily put 10k into mine now for maintenance alone.. thank god alot of that was covered by audi CPO

I haven't done it myself yet (till this winter) but my pops has performed tons of them, 20+ years vw/audi certified, he says it is identical to the 2.8 for timing belt swap so you might be able to look that up for more info on the timing belt change. I know very little about the change myself currently but if you need questions answered Pm me and I'll give you his number and he will answer them for you.
