  • Easy way to know options on a used car?

Looking at a used car and no-one seems to know for sure what packages the car has. I know it has s-line, but not sure about the cold weather and convenience packages. I find it hard to tell for sure if it has Xenons in daylight, and I guess I could look for the ski sack to confirm cold weather options. Is there a way with the VIN number I can confirm all options? No one at the dealership seems to know anything about the car

Oh, one more thing. They say it's a 2006, but it has the 2.0T engine in it. I thought they only put that engine out in 2007?

        I think 2.0Ts were in 2006s & 7s, I assume you are talking about an A4?

There should be some distinct features to highlight each package but hard to say, have to go back and look at the options for that year.

when i was talking to the parts guy at glenmore audi, he checked up my vin number and printed off some pages of all the options that were installed at the factory for me. i can't remember for sure, but i know the car fax told me whether it had a sunroof or not. for xenon headlights, when the lights turn on they should flicker then turn on. on the back of the headlight housing directly behind the bulb, there should be a high voltage sticker on it, the halegons don't get these stickers. hope this helps

OK, I have confirmation that the car has technology package, sunroof, premium package, and s-line package. The problem is that I don't have a brochure from 2006 to find out what was included in those packages, and for 2007 there's no such thing as a technology package. I was able to confirm the xenon headlights, seat memory, colour trip monitor and bluetooth. Can anyone help me out?

Pretty sure but not positive that Audis website will tell you what is included in the specific packages.

Options include Bose premium audio with Sirius or XM satellite radio ($1,000) and a DVD Navigation System ($1,950). Option packages add myriad features. Among them: The Premium Package ($1,850) comprises Homelink, power front passenger seat, rain sensor, heated front seats, auto-dimming interior mirror with compass, auto-dimming and electrically folding exterior mirrors, and 17-inch wheels and all-season tires. A Sunroof Package ($1,400) also includes leather seating surfaces. Technology Package 1 ($1,275) offers bi-xenon headlamps, adaptive front lighting, memory for the driver's seat adjustment and exterior mirror positions and a color trip computer. Technology Package 2 ($1,775) adds Bluetooth and voice control to Package 1. A Cold Weather Package ($400) includes heated rear seats and a ski sack. Also available: dark walnut wood trim ($400), and polished Vavona light wood trim ($400). New for 2006, customers who place an order with the dealer and are prepared to wait can select from a broader selection of options and colors. These include a multi-function four-spoke wood and leather steering wheel ($500), rear Parktronic ($350), power rear and manual side sunshades ($400), headlight washers ($150), and special paint colors.

New for 2006 is the S-Line package ($3,000), which features firmer suspension components, 18-inch cast alloy wheels and performance tires, special bumpers, special badging, S-Line steering wheel and brushed aluminum trim. The Sport Suspension ($250) and 17-inch cast alloy wheels with all-season tires ($150) can be ordered.

Thanks for the info everyone. I ended up getting it last night, pics to follow probably after the weekend. When the car was parked the mirrors weren't folding in, can anyone tell me the secret handshake to get them to fold in tight for pulling into the garage?

I think on some Audi's your mirror control switch has to be in a certain position for the fold to work, but I am not really sure.

No offense to ED here guys, you know I love it. but...

                            Audizine!

Your endless source of Audi info.

Thats a pimp car, if you get it man, i cheaped out and couldn't afford the S-line package, do some looking around though because, I know on AZ especially, there are a few of these slightly used already FSBO. And we all know that you will pay more than its worth from the stealershit.

Alrady got it. Will probably pick it up this weekend. It only had 9700km on it, and I took it home for what I think was a good price (for me). The only options it was missing was rear curtain airbags and cold weather, but I can live without those.
