BMW has been in the turbo game for a long time in europe with its wide variety of turbo diesel engines.
Lets not forget the 1973-75 2002 turbo. This car alone helped launch BMW's reputation for being the undisputed champion of sports sedans. The 2.0L turbo produced 170hp at 5800rpm and had a 0-60 time of 6.9 seconds. It was one hell of a car for its time.
I'm not sure what the purpose of this vehicle is, it's an offroad vehicle designed for on-road use, it's like a truck so it will be heavy which means poor fuel economy. there is a large slope to the back and it's a 2 door so the U in SUV doesn't apply either, and I wouldn't call it sporty. It can't haul kids and soccer balls.
I don't know, what good is it?
BUT, I guess they sold lots of 2 door ZR2 blazers so who knows.
