Weird question:
I know enough about BMW to know that the first digit in the model name of a car is the series (3, 5, 6, 7) and the next 2 digits is the displacement (325i is a 3 series, 2.5 litre).
I also know that the i stands for injection, the "x" models are all-wheel drive. "S" stands for sport, etc etc. But I always thought that the "c" (i.e. 325ci) meant coupe. Some initial investigation proves so, as well. Yet I have seen a 2-door 325i, etc. so this doesnt quite make sense. someone also seems to think that the "c" models are convertibles but thats definitely not the case as I have seen many coupes with the "c" badge. is this different depending on generation?
anyone know the answer?
