  • Help with diverter valve install on A4

    Hi folks,

The name is Adrian and I'm new to town (Calgary) and new to these boards as well. Definately looking forward to attending future meets and meeting you all as well.

I recently went APR stage 1 on my 2003 A4, but did not upgrade the DV at that time. I did however order a Forge 007 DV and have it in my posession. I attempted to install it when I was upgrading my snub mount, but the hoses were hard to access and I decided to hold off. Yesterday when I was driving I heard the "honking" noise that indicates the stock DV is gone. Now I pretty much have no choice but to install the Forge DV.

I was wondering if anyone with experience doing this could help me out? I'd try doing it myself, but I'm afraid i'll only be able to get one hose off and render my car useless until it's fixed. If anyone could lend a hand I'd really appreciate it. I can be reached on my cell at 780-880-0722 or email: slanger686@hotmail.com

    Thanks!
    Adrian

I know pretty much everthing involved with the install, I'm just worried about not being able to get the hose clamps off. One clamp looks like I'd be able to get it off, but the other is further up and not very accessible. I'm just worried about starting the job and not being able to finish it due to lack of tools/skills. I'm living in a condo and don't really have access to a garage or anything like that..

ahh the stock clamps are 1 time use so you'll need needle nose pliers and a screwdriver to break them open to get off.. then you can just use normal clamps or even zip ties on the small lines

K, Im just off 17th and 6th... I will pick up a better jack, and am free tonight or tomorrow....

Just make sure to get three hose clamps, (or two and one zip tie) as the stock ones are one use, and I am all out.

My email is markgord@hotmail.com to arrange something...

                Hi Mark,

I have clamps and zipties so no worries. I also have some ramps if you want to use those instead of getting jacks. I'll email you now to sort out the details.

                Thanks!

Mark came by tonight and had the new DV installed within half an hour. Great guy, just wanted to say thanks again.
