  • 2001 S4 rns-e upgrade

know of anyone that has done this? Or any shops in Calgary that has?

I'm looking to upgrade the stereo in the car and either going to go the double din touchscreen w/gps or the oem way with an rns-e. So far my research of the rns-e is that you have to do some hacks to get it in and to work with the car systems.

My question is it too much hassle vs the aftermarket gps systems, and in the end more costly?

if I go the aftermarket route I was thinking a Kenwood head unit and then it's Nav addon. This way the Nav part is a harddrive unit, so you can use the disc player while having the nav going, vs a DVD unit that is one or the other.

Go with the RNS-E unit for sure...looks hot as hell. Check out navplus.us like Ryan said for all the info you need, and install is super easy from what I've read.
