US Price was announced yesteray at 109,000 US for the R8 manual and 118,000 for the R Tronic version. I hope Audi adjusts it conversion factors as that could be close to 150,000 Canadian to start

Wasn't there supposed to be a 4.2L v8 version and then also the lambo V10? Did that end up happening?

150K CAD for a 600ish hp V10 will probably sell in Calgary; just a 911 targa at the auto show was like 120k. But if its only the V8 for 150k I would take a porsche I think.

Yeah thats the V8, there is nothing official about the V10s yet, and the 150K is just a guess using the 109US Price at conversion rates on other Audi cars.

But yes you can try and get a new GT3 for under 150, or a 4S with a few options!

Id take an R8 over either of them. R8 is one of my favorite production cars at the moment.

I think you could get a turbo for pretty close to 150, the MSRP base is 170 but 10% off is not impossible with Porsche (so I hear) = 153k

That's true, but I think some people might legitimately prefer the R8 over the Turbo. They are different cars to be sure. I just read a great 911 Turbo vs. R8 article somewhere (can't remember where) and they both certainly have their strong suits... I guess it depends on what matters to you more.

Exactly. I won't argue that the 911 Turbo won't be faster, because it surely will, and in the hands of a knowledgeable and experienced driver, it will perform better. To me, those 13 seconds aren't too big of a difference. I'm not a world class driver, so I prefer something that is easier to drive while still having tones of "fun" factor. Also add in that Audi's typically have more "luxury" type features, that may sway the decision for some buyers.

Edit: ... and I won't argue about which car looks better because beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I think they are both amazing looking rides.

With the V10 its hard to argue, I'd take it and I'd say its better than the Porsche and Ferarri too. Even with the V8 I guess I would take it over most anything for the price except a Porsche.
