Suggestions/thoughts???

So...the time has come to do a respray on the S4. The paint is definately lacking after 100k+, so I'll be respraying it the first week of June. I do NOT want to spray it a different color all together (to avoid stripping it completely), but I will definately be doing something different (Phantom Black perhaps) My question is, do you think a pearl black car with a dark, dark grey roof would look good? Kinda like going the opposite of light cars with a black roof? I am seriously considering doing this but don't know how it would turn out.

I'm thinking of going Phantom Black (and adding some tungsten metallic), and then spraying the roof with Titan Metallic (grey Porsche color but darker than Seal Grey). Any thoughts???

I'm trying to find a good angle of a black B5 so I can do a p-chop (so I don't have to take a picture of mine lol), so if anyone has one...

like 2 tone? i saw this wicked looking 2 tone on AW today.. here are some pics.. well its sorta 2 tone but gives you an idea for a dark car with grey i guess

i'd say do a nice pearl black on it.. the grey roof would be cool too i think..

I love that car...but don't think that I could live with the two-tone paint on a daily driver. I was just thinking of the grey roof because most people won't even notice lol but it'll be different at the same time.

yea i know what you mean now.. like das8e car on AZ/AW he has a silver with a black roof that looks quite good.. i think it'd look cool

kyle does your cluster have bad pixels? i guess its a probably that plagues all vw/audi clusters with the solid red text..

sure does...they're kind of off and on, but there are some permanently dead ones. When it really starts bugging me I'm going to pick up an RS4 cluster.

Checkered roof. On a black car it will look p1mp.

I think lighter grey roof on a black car will be bad.



Or satin black the whole thing.

A lot of the flat black guys use a paint from John Deere that is made for tractors called just "John Deere Black" but it looks really good.

I was trying to locate the pic of the black MKIV GTI that had a black and dark grey checker pattern on the roof...but I couldn't find it. That would be the ONLY checkered combo I would do, and the grey would have to be almost black so it would barely be noticable.

I'm liking the satin or flat black idea more and more though...
