  • Long shot question...

I have already asked on AW and AZ, but maybe someone here can help me out. I finally found my power steering fluid leak last night after hours of searching. It looks like it will be a fairly simply fix, BUT, I need the part number for the line that burst. If anyone has access to P/N's and a diagram for the entire power steering system, could you please post them up. I'm looking for the hard line that runs underneath the drivers side headlight and circulates in front of the rad.

Thanks a lot RSS...that's a very helpful PDF! I guess I shouldn't be amazed that a piece of pipe costs $105

Oh, and it looks like the p/n is actually 8D0 422 885 L...unless I'm completely blind.

              Re: Long shot question...

ya, the only thing is I need it yesterday...the car is sitting in the garage with the front end ripped apart (the wife ain't happy as she now has no car!). Anybody know if there is some kind of "filler" that can be used on pressurized hard lines? The leak is seriously no bigger than a pin size. Seems rediculous to replace the entire line for such a small leak...any insight would be appreciated.

Sorry about my typo that sheet is fairly old and american i dont even look at the prices i just use it for part#'s

You could check a couple of places for used.

                Import Auto Recyclers 1-604-857-2211 (BC)

                Arnprior/Ottawa Auto Parts 1-800-267-7386 (Ont)

I have delt with the one from Ontario a couple times and have been very happy with there service.

The one in BC has a couple S4's last time i checked but they are a little slower to deal with.

have you tried calling any of the mechanic shops? i've done all of my work at mid-town service and for a part that i called Glenmore Audi, they said it would take them 3 business days to get the part but mid-town could get it that day. They have different suppliers and usually cost a lot less.

I might try and call around a bit...I'm just waiting to hear back from George to see how fast he can get the part. But, I may just go with the cooler and bypass the whole thing.

Try Greenline Hoses dont know the ph # in the foothills 52nd and 61st I think they make all types of pressurized lines but you will probaly have to give them a sample

You may be able to replace the whole tube with hose if you know what the ends are, yes take it to Green Line 243-1570 and let them have a look.

What is the tube made of? I would just put a tack on it and call it good, or bite the bullet and get the right part. I don't even bother anymore, I just pay what they want and get the part that fits and back on the road.
