    Re: Needed: Wheel Ideas

Ok... I'm narrowing things down well today. I've come to the conclusion that the wheels I'm always most impressed with are ones that have lip and 20 spokes. For example, the previous image... and this one:

Now to see if I can find ones that won't kill my bank account (or maybe just grin and bear it).

As far as sizing, I think i've narrowed that down too:

Wheel Size: 19x8 ET45 or higher
    Tire Size: 225/35/19

So far Bill, I really like what you've come up with.......

I agree that the A3 looks good with rims that have lots of spokes and a good dish on them. Then just drop the thing, and you're set!!
Sidewalks are for normal walkin.... aint no room for fancy walkin....

No, I don't think so. I guess I'm open to the idea, but I haven't found anyone doing it yet (which is maybe why I SHOULD do it), so I don't know what sizes will work. I know that lots of people experience lots of rubbing, and I really don't want to rub at all (a very very small amount is ok, but no more).

I think if I did go staggered it would have to be something like this:

          Front Wheels: 19x8 ET45
          Front Tires: 225/35/19

          Rear Wheels: 19x9 ET50
          Rear Tires: 235/35/19 (not sure)

Not sure if that will rub on the rear damper though. Still gotta do more research.

              Re: Needed: Wheel Ideas

I would go staggered, its going to look way better in the end unless you use spacers in the rear. Sure, there is that old argument about it being a FWD car, but those people are just jealous of those who can buy custom wheels to make their car look good. In the back, poke or flush with fenders makes the car look way more aggressive and the only way to do that is with a different offset, or more width/lip, or spacers.

Multispoke with lip, nice idea, not so easy to find...

If you were afraid of them being too wide and rubbing the damper you could cheat and get 19x8 front and rear with a lower offset on the rear. True stagger is probably nicer though, just a suggestion.

                            Re: Needed: Wheel Ideas

Sorry Billip but if you want a dished multispoke wheel you are going to have to look for a good deal on an expensive wheel. The more reasonably priced companies don't even try to compete in that space :(

If you go to a mesh wheel, similar to your previous Axis wheels, you will have more affordable options. Alternately you have to go to a 5 spoke probably. Or the M3 style twin-spokes, those are cheaper (eg. JLine)

WORK Euroline FE $700 US e

Thats maybe the cheapest one I listed

                            Can anyone beat it?

Velocity (alex) here in edmonton has some 19" staggered iforge wheels still i think. I will get in touch with him today and see.
what i know is they are 19" gunmetal centers with a huge polished lip.
I think 2.5" front lip an about 3-3.5" rear lip. i'll get more info and details on offset and everything today for you.
