well they wont give the gti much more power then it has now, because that will be unfair to current owners. they will have to call it something else, like Audi S3

I agree with bart, they will not want to overtake the other 2.0T cars by beefing up the GTI too much, even if 300hp is kind of where the bar is set for a sport hatch now.

The 225hp 1.8T could easilly have made it to the GTI before or even a higher output version like a 250... but it never happened.

Well there is the R32 at 250hp that we just never get so that can fill the gap and maybe the next R36 will compete but of course it wont come here.

I do however think this will bring some great action to the hatch segement and that is good!!

I dunno if anyone else has seen it but their is a silver BMW 1 series driving around here in Edmonton. I've seen it twice already in the downtown area near Grant MacEwan College.

Someone ag GMAC has one in the parkade all the time must be from Mexico. Ive never noticed the plates before. However I did see one not to long ago downtown and it had mexican plates I thought it was awsome. The v6 twin turbo should be pretty amazing. I read its only suppose to be 5k USD more the the 130

A lot of people on another forum think that the above car is actually the 130 due to the exhaust configuration (one side vs dual).

I'm still excited about the idea of a 300hp 135 though.

I have heard that too, but with a test mule you really never know, but I dont think a 130 would be all that bad either!
