  • Christmas party??!!

Hi all, so we are thinking about having an NVD Christmas party so I thought I would guage interest. I will try to keep it reasonably priced and something that the majority would like to do. We can get together have a few drinks, bring out the spouses or sig. others and have a good time.

Here are some thoughts but i'm always open to suggestions.....

Shanks - lots to do and could stay late, however no Minors.

Earls - A bit more formal and better food but not as much interaction.

We could also grab a bite and then head off to do something else too (Grand Prix racing for example) however that will significantly increase the cost of the evening.

As for dates I was thinking December 14, 15, 16 or possibly 17th (interested to know what works for people as the Holiday season gets busy, I think a weeknight might work best).

    Let me know!!

I like the idea of something like booking a room at a pub.

I know shanks is a fun place but it is very big and IMO not great for private parties.

Lots of pubs have private rooms you can book for events, or you can book the 2nd floor or basemenet or something like that. If we could get enough people that would be my preference.

Dixons (midnapore) is a sweet pub, my aunt booked the upstairs for my uncles b-day one year, and it worked out nicely.

That works for me too, I actually was trying to book a private room somewhere but the place I was trying turned out to be a little too pricey so other places are welcome.

Hmm... booking a room at a pub could be pretty cool, too. I didn't think of that. We booked a room upstairs at Limerick's for part of my friend's stag a couple years back. Worked really well.

                      I'm down for whatever though.

Moxies in the Sandman hotel has a private room, I don't think there is any special charge, I have used it in the past.

Ok so sounds like it's Shanks or booking a room at a pub (which I will have to look into)

Input so far is good.....So far we have
                          Ryan
                          Mike (Mr. Burns)
                          James
                          Kris (kor)
Brent (stonewall) I'll put you down as tentative
                          Aleks tentative
                          Chris

Any others that might want to join in? We have some time yet but would like to get an idea on numbers. Calgary seems to really get booked up with all the rich companies booking Christmas parties
