Krispy Kreme Meet

Well since the other thread was long and all about what date to get together I thought a new thread would just be easier.

Therefore we are going to have a mid month meeting on tuesday April 19th at 8:00pm at Krispy Kreme Donuts in the NE at SunRidge Mall. This meeting is primarily for new people to get hooked up with memberships but anyone and everyone is welcome to come by and see the cars, have a coffee and a donut!

I have never had a Krispy Kreme donut before. YES I lead a sheltered life being stuck on an island with ferry cost that are crazy just to get off it. I'm going to look like some country bumpkin when I get to Edmonton going WOW at everything and being amazed after living in such a little town here.

I just heard about them recently. Are there any shops in Edmonton or is it Just Timmy's?

I have never had a Krispy Kreme donut before.

You're not missing anything. They're disgusting. Poofy and oily instead of doughy like donuts should be, and they leave an animal fat kind of aftertaste in your mouth -- the same kind of fuzzy tongue you get after eating mcdonalds. They'll also make you fat.

I like to think 'teddy bear-ish' not fat.

Krisky Kreme uses lard to make and cook the doughnuts whereas the other places use butter/margarine for the making and canola for the cooking.
