I would definitely disagree with having it in any of the UofC lots. They are not at all condusive. It would need to be like on the lawn or something.

Lot 10 is out in the middle of nowhere! Nobody would see the show or know its there unless they were coming specifically for it. Also, its a huge lot and they have never closed any lots off entirely, only partially. Other lots are basically the same way - they are located in out-of-the-way locations. The lots moreover are not generally well kept.

It is also possible to book some of the city parks, like Riley park. I am not sure what the rules are regarding vehicles in the park. If you need help with a city park let me know and I can put you in touch with the right people.

My suggestions would be Riley Park (in Kensignton), North Glenmore (has good parking), Bowness Park, or Confederation Park.

Also, I remember going to some aircooled shows at SAIT where the lot looks over the city. I am not sure if that show is still there, but that was a great location also.

COP is very much open during the summer, almost moreso than in the winter....trust me.....that may work if you can organize it, but its really out of the way without much through traffic....I know there have been shows in the Deerfoot mall parking lot before, usually lots of room there.....or even the NorthHill mall parking lot, off 16th ave...

i think COP would be great.. even tho you can't see it off the road very well. perhaps we can stick up ghetto signs saying 'euro car show @ COP' or something and people would probably come by.. stick the signs up along crowchild. 16th, shag..

the north hill mall is good too.. probably the big part of the lot right by sait and 14th

I'm not sure if malls would want us taking over part of their lots for a day, I think doing anything with the government would require us getting pretty good insurance, which is something that we will probably need to look into, most places will probably want at least some sort of insurance to make it official. I don't even know who you would have to contact about that. But COP would be great, except we would lose alot of incidental traffic.

Riley park is a good idea, lots of drive by traffic, about as central as you can get and a huge, well kept area. Don't know how easy it would be to get but that would be nice.

I definitely think COP is too far out. That should be the last resort if all else fails.

What about the Mcmahn stadium? The main lot off crowchild and their big billboard would work out awesome.

It is is pretty easy to book a park. All you have to do is call bookings. I work for the Parks department, so I can look into what would be involved in that. I think the only hitch might be cars driving on the turf.
