  • Re: World of Wheels 2005

I think having the spec sheets on either stars or film negatives (something like that) would work out well, and look quite good...
Cleaning the underbody should be loads of fun......

don't really worry about the underbody its not that big of a deal just try to spray it with the hose when you wash your car or get your detail shop (if i remember right you were doing that route) to wash it for you on a lift..

C'mon people. There are how many members in this club!? Car shows are when everyone should be lending a hand to get this kinda work done. Don't let these poor bastards do everything. Remember, it's YOU and YOUR club that these guys are representing! We pay practically nothing for membership fees in return for valuable online resources, information, and of course entertainment . Not to mention some great club discounts. So help these folks out, show some NVD support, and volunteer some time and/or dollars!... (end rant)

PS - The stars still get my vote

I am hopping to have my rims this weekend so I can get some updated pics. Otherwise I might have to get someone to work some photoshop magic for me.

I think the spec sheets should just be text based this time. Will work better with the star idea.

Thanks for the rant Derick, your support is greatly appreciated!

Are the stars being pasted on the floor in front of each car? Or are they going to put on a stand? The floor idea sounds better. Although then it would be better to make them fairly Large...

The stars on the floor idea might be hard to see and make people crouch down. And I sure hate crouching down. SO if we do that, make sure the text is big enough.

And I'm driving into Calgary on Saturday and will be there the whole week to help out, so give me a call at 289-0911 and I'm down for helping out. I have nothing planned all week so I'm going to be bored.

I think the Stars leaning against the cars would be good....but I have an alterior motive for that to, to hide a scratch....

I think I am just getting my engine cleaned at the Detailer... as it is the toughest part... I think waxing and such isnt a big deal. IIRC they steam it as wel, it looks spotless!
I will get a quote if anyone else is interested...

Well, here's my $.02 - The stars should be made life-sized and placed on the floor in front of each car, with only the name of the owner and model of car on it (for example: Ryan A. - Chrysler Le Baron ). Keeping them on the ground will keep to the theme better IMO. The mod lists should be placed on a seprate sheet on each car at eye level. This can be done creatively by making a simple Pshop template as a background to look like a film strip and simply printing these out with the mods lists on them. Like so...

Except with mods listed instead of Mickey frickin Mouse!

Would normal sized paper be big enough? I doubt it. Those stars would most likely have to be printed off at a professional printer. I would do them in the brass background, like the real stars. Derick's full of great ideas here...
