Yea, I was surprised how well you stayed with me Ryan. Your car aint no slouch, for sure. Had we started from a stop you prolly would've walked me.

Too bad you cant be at C1 tommorow. Be interesting to see what your car puts down now.

Chad, I think you could probably pull 50hp out of your car with some tuning...

              Re: October Meeting

I know, my setup is kinda half a$$ed right now. But it runs perfect and trouble free, just a little short on the power.

440's, vr6 maf housing, fmic, and Upsolute BT software are on the list. Just a matter of time.

Bart, CSCC is having a track day tommorow, I think. You goin?

I think I'll run at race city before and after getting dynoed. Dyno day will be "dyno hour" for me.

Definitely getting a fmic, wideband, programming and ebc... then checking on the dyno if you can up the fueling... well it wouldn't hurt your car!

The question is can you NOT afford to do it?

I like when people think about this stuff! However, this should be in another thread probably.

If you just buy the turbo and manifold, you will also need downpipe and fixed intercooler and inlet piping, oil lines, gaskets, etc to just make it fit in the car. It probably wouldn't run "buttery" out of the box with any known software since I believe the "Big Turbo" software is written for a baseline that includes fueling upgrades, intercooler, etc. There are some threads about this on Vortex where people have complained about this very issue - Revo claims it is a good program for "any" big turbo setup but this is simply not the case, no program is universal. However your Revo (or other) dealer may be able to custom tune a program for you. Or you might be able to use the regular K03 program with SPS3 to tune it to run decently.

The alternative is to buy a full kit. Typically the really complete kits such as APR Stage III or even ATP Stage IV should be very very good out of the box, and won't need tuning unless you want to maximize the potential. For example people can get 300hp (potential) on the APR Stage III kit but you would be more likely to see around 250 with it if you don't have supporting mods and custom tuning. The less complete kits (ATP hardware-only kits, ATP Stage II, others) are less likely to perform really well out of the box and will not "fit" as well (but they also have high potential).

I always like chatting about this, especially off-line, so gimmie a shout.

I read a few threads on the Gt25 turbo and I believe its quite the bugger to fit properly. Unless its one of the gt25/gt28r hybrids... those are good and I think they're the ATP stage 2 gen 1's? (kor you may need to correct me)

Looking at all the turbo upgrades people are doing to their cars, it looks like atp stage 2 gen 2 with the gt28rs turbo is the most popular. Upsolute BT v3 has some really powerful #'s. I was planning to do a atp stage 2 upgrade but the cost of the kit + install time is gonna probablly be close to $4000 =(
