    Re: Spring Dyno Day Results

Last year with no mods except brocks.

    191.0 HP, 193.7 TQ

Samco TIH, Magnaflow Catback, Ghetto Grounding Kit and JABBA badging.

I'm interested in what will happen with the Revo.

So either the Samco gave me quite a bit of HP or my grounding kit and Jabba badging did it. (Actually a few hp are gained from using my lighter winter wheels. How much I leave for the reader to decide).

And it sounded bad-ass on the dyno. Just need Simon's mad blow off noise now.

khyron... did you notice anything from the grounding kit? Alot of people on the vortex are saying good things about it. I'm thinking of doing one myself.

If there's nothing wrong with your current ground, then it should do nothing. But if you have crappy ground at any point, it can do anything from increase MPG to increase HP. It depends.

hmmm, BASICALLY, atp's gt28rs kit. fairly out of the box... things that give it an extra edge were the 4.7V 5W zener... and two intercoolers.

In a couple months I'm going to dyno again with my super cool equal length header.

Those are some nice numbers for a 90hp TDI, what mods do you have done? Now that I have most of my sounds mods done it is time for more speed

Some of those numbers seem a little on the high side, but I am glad everyone had a good time and got some good results. I wished I could have got the VR6 out to see what it would do, but we will try and get another dyno day for May some time!!

                      Re: Spring Dyno Day Results

Just wondering if anyone knew the guy with the diesel caddy? He seems to just show up at the dyno days (he came to the last one too), but doesn't tell anyone he's coming, nor is in even in the club.

Ken had a set number of cars we could dyno, and apparently he was rude insisting to be dyno'd even after C1 was closed for an hour already, and Zack (dyno operator) said he wanted to go home. That's why we had a set list of 10 cars to be dyno'd, we weren't supposed to go over that set limit. It's unfair to C1, and its unfair to Zack who had to stay late.

So perhaps if anyone knows this guy, or even if he lurks here, the dyno day is for club members, so please dont just show up whenever you hear about a dyno day. If you want to participate, please become a member of the club, and sign your name onto the list.

                        Ouch. So much for hospitality...

My dyno time was cleared with Ken, and I had talked with Zack previously about messing with the TDI engine to see if we could figure out where to pull the a RPM reading from. (TDI_Steve was privy to that conversation) THAT's what he didn't want to spend any time on. Once it was figured out that I could do without, he ran the truck no problem, no complaints, other than having a tie down hook pull thru a frame rail...

If I wasn't welcome there, I'd have rather you talked to me then and there, rather than having a blind forum discussion after the fact.

I drove 6+ hours yesterday to spend a couple of hundred bucks at C1, with the added bonus of watching a bunch of 1.8Ts spin the rollers. After I'd been told I could spin the rollers myself, I didn't want to go home without doing that.

The diesel ran 150whp and ~276torque, btw.

Feel free to PM me if you want to tell me off directly.

Dave, I'm sorry if it came across as disrespecting you, that wasn't my intention. I had no idea who you were, and the few people that I talked to had no idea who you were either. So I thought to myself, who is this guy? I wasn't around for the conversation so I had to rely on 2nd hand information. So my apologies if I got the story wrong.

I just didn't think it right that we had to turn down a number of NVD members wanting to dyno their cars, then a guy that we've never heard of comes and dyno's his car. And from what I was told, Zack was wanting to go home but you were quite adament about getting your car on there.

Yeah, I don't think anyone wanted to attack you or anything like that. Just want to make sure that everyone who comes down on dyno day knows that you should be on the list ahead of time, that you should be a club member and that we need to respect the guys at C1, when they say closing time, we should clear out. If Ken promised you a spot, and if Zack has no hard feelings from staying late, then its a non-issue I guess... I was there until the shop closed up, and it seemed to me that after Ryan's car Zack wanted to shut down.

Hey Dave, no problem on my part...Zack talked to us about not getting a torque reading.. and asked if one of us could stick around...so he could work out getting a way to read a TDi...
I'm still not over this damn flu ...so I baled out.. went home...
Sorry to hear things went sort of bad...

That was fun guys. Sean, by far, had the biggest #'s. Prolly even more left in that spud.

Kris had the strongest ko3 I think. Remember a ride in that last summer and, yea, it pulled damn hard. Cant imagine much else left in that turbo.

Thanks for the spin in the TDI beast of a caddy Dave. Gotta love a mk1 with a nice motor swap.

My #'s were 223.8 whp 236.3 wtq. Pretty happy with that. Next will be more boost and bigger injectors. I want to keep my stock airbox, but after hearing Simon's car, maybe a cai is in order.
