It would if I wasn't already booked for Europe. I'd be the first one signed up.

Excuses.... I believe that the show is only 1 day? Its an excuse to polish up your ride, cruse down there as a group, rep the euro scene and just chill out for a few hours. I'd be doing half that stuff even if there wasn't a show.
Well, I can't speak for Ryan. But for myself, it's not an issue of "wanting" to go in the show or not. I found out today that my wheels won't be here in time for the show. No wheels = weak show car. To compound matters, I haven't recieved some other engine and interior parts to finish the car. So long story short - my car will not be ready.

I actually agree that Ryan should still enter. In fact, I firmly believe that his car will take home a trophy I'm down for hanging out at the oval for a day and checking out cars, so....

Who could we get to replace you Derick? You could also borrow Rims from another Car. I should have my BBS RC's by that time... or I'm sure someone would let you borrow some nice rims

Well, I guess the question is how many cars are really needed?

I think the club should still enter VUB. Sure, most of the cars down there will be Hondas and Acuras, but this will people the chance to see that its not all about Led's and huge spoilers. I think some nicely modded VW's will still get respect at the show. Lots of people were impressed with the cars and WOW, and we didnt exactly "fit in" there.

              BTW.... when is FFH?

WTF what do you need to FOCUS ON? YOU SHOW UP AND WALK AWAY, NO PLANNING NECESSARY!!!

Well I have to say I am a little disappointed in how things are going with this show. V8less is a big urban show with cars, spanning all different forms of brands and mods. It is a one day event that goes from 11-11 I believe with numerous prizes including top VW. I thought our cars would draw a lot of attention at the show as they would be a little different from some of the other vehicles out there, and even CVD is putting in cars, so it might not be as "ricey" as you may think.

A show like FFH is a friendly VW show n shine with no awards, so really concentrating on a show like this is better preparation for FFH then the other way around. Anyway we need 5 cars to make the club display which is looking doubtful and I am getting pressure from the organizers to confirm the list as the show is fully sold out. Shows like these are a great way to expose our club and cars to people who might not think of VWs as fun project cars. I was also looking at trying to organize something for Sport Compact Nights in Edmonton in July, but if you guys are not interested in these shows I will not use my time to set these things up.

Overall I need to have the names of the owners and the fees in less then a week but if things are not looking well then maybe I will just pull the plug, I only want to spend my time organizing things that you guys want to do. I understand if cars are not ready for shows and stuff but I think if I had a car like some of yours I would be making the effort to get it into as many shows as I could.

                    Thanks

edit.. we definetely need to get planning then on this.. perhaps we can just toss in 2 20ths and put bills in or glens if he has his new wheels (i haven't talked to him for a while so i dunno)

                              So who's in right now?

Ryan, bill/glen, Derick (if we get him some wheels), Simon.....

Could Paul make it in this one? His car is really nice, especially if he gets the R32 front.

Ryan and Simon L are the only for sures. That means we still need 3 more cars. Derick with a borrowed set of wheels would be very good. We have some 20ths to look at (Bill, Chris), Paul will only have his front and rear maybe painted so he is questionable. It looks like we may have to abandon the silver, grey, black colour scheme but that is ok as long as we have 5 quality cars.

Maybe a couple of cars to think about Pat (if he is in town) and Al if his stuff is painted??
