All depends on timing...If this a day dedicated to this we can go up to Lake Louise, hit the Bow Valley Parkway, Norquay and 1A... We will need to have one stop for gas, a stop for lunch at some point and maybe an ice cream in Cochrane to finish up the day. All told that would be about a 6 to 7 hour day with the fill up, lunch and ice cream... it is doable, just don't know how many could actually do this...
bow valley parkway is a good drive as long as there aren't many tourists driving on it. and it would be a nice shot to get a whole bunch of cars in at the abandoned gas station building on the return trip where hwy 1 east turns into a 3 lane with the passing lane.

I think to do a 6-7 hour cruise is a really long day. This is just my opinion. I think it might be easier for most people that want to come out to possibly have a shorter cruise day where we are only driving maybe half that time. That way people can still be home for supper or have some time with family.
