    I wasn't there so i don't know if i have a right to speak now but from what i can see/understand i can see where SillySod is coming from. This doesn't appear to be a car meet. This is a full on car SHOW. With the caliber of cars and styles/types that appeared i would have even left my car in the parking lot so that i could take a look around an actual car show without all the owners of the cars in the show looking down on some of the cars that were present in other sections of the event.

    No i'm not saying that all the cars were junk, i'm just saying that i fully agree that there is a time and place for some of the cars that entered, and this probably wasn't that time.

      do not get the euro car show and dasvolks confused, they were in the same place but 2 different shows with an area of nothing in between them. But yeah I felt like a knob driving in with that blue fiat abarth 750, a ferrari dino and a 458

      I spoke to a bunch of people from the other side regarding a bunch of the stuff from the VW side and none of them "looked down" on anything, The guys I spoke to from the porsche club were awesome and friendly.

      According to all of this the VW show would have had 10 cars tops to meet everyones standards.

        ^thanks! I'm sure Jim has much better ones coming. I was very surprised when I saw so many great cars out there other than the VWs. Yup, real car lovers respect others!

        Edit: that dark blue mk4 with the body kit was pretty nice indeed, remembered it from close to home.

              ^^^This is a perfect example of a post that should be deleted immediately as it is a topic that was previous covered, in a thread that got locked, and just as the moderators get things under control again, it opens up the same can of worms in a different thread.

                you see i think that thread you mention shouldn't have been locked because i share some of these same sentiments. now we are double railroading this thread because an earlier thread got locked in what maybe some feel was either too early, or not needed. we all have varying opinnions of what a car show/meet/gtg/cruise would consist of. shutting down opinions of others because some feel they are disrespectful, when they are not, is wearing thin on some.

                now on with the thread. or lock. or pictures.

                i'm with onceover. way more interested in the euro show stuff. wish i could have made it.
                you probably don't like me because someone else said they didn't lol. <3

                  I showed up and had a lot of fun. I could care less who won what. Saw a lot of cool cars that you don't see everyday (300sl, F40, F50, M1 etc). Oh and nice pictures Jerry!

                      Personally I feel that there are no comments here to close the thread; MechEngg comment is not attacking at anyone specific and it really highlights how Das Volks appears different then it has in the past with the combination of the Euro Classic show. This combination gives a lot of eye candy and traffic but can you ever compare a daily driver worth 10K versus a collectible, possibly restored car with maybe 100s of thousands into them. The pics show a nice balance and the point is to build the community from every angle as there is a chance that some of us could be on the fancy Euro side one day or have finally finished those projects that were started when we were in our 20s

                      It is a persons choice to enter a car show/event and of course some people enter to win, but others enter to have fun, enjoy the day, meet new people and support the event and scene and we have to remember at the end of the day that is what it is all about!

                        i was about to say.. i don't follow shows at all anymore but did they invite other groups out i'm taking it? thats awesome to see the amazing mix plus all the raris!

                          This split window 60+ year old bug was amazing. Noticed it had a fleet plate on it. is it Concept1's? or is there some small business owner that runs this through his business?

                                I narrowed down to around 50 photos from over 400, if they seem biased, its because i was shooting for free, so they are hahaha. I shot the cars that personally grab my attention, these are pre edits converted to .jpg from raw (yuck), if you see one you like and want me to edit it, please let me know and i will send a good copy to you. I would rather do it properly before you post it anywhere, i dont want any of these posted without my permission or name for credit anywhere.
